The Portland, Oregon based STI is a non-profit organization that focuses on enhancing tourism based on the principles of economic, social and environmental sustainability. The Athens, Greece based ENAT focuses on accessible tourism on the international level and therefore improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities in the local community. These potential for these to endeavors too complement each other prompted the collaboration.

The initial goal of the companies will be to focus on the needs of individual destinations. They will also provide general guidance and training materials for business managers in the tourism genre. They hope to address the needs of businesses in a more holistic way and extend their reach.

ENAT'S managing director, commented: "Making tourism accessible for all gives direct business benefits by opening up to a wider market, especially considering the rise in numbers of older travellers, and it can also mean a huge improvement to the life conditions of the locals. We hope that by working with STI we can reach more communities - also outside our base in Europe - and help to bring wider social benefits within the framework of sustainable tourism."
