But for people with disabilities this form of transportation has long been difficult and for some impossible to use, especially independently. With the expansion of laws such as the Air Carrier Access Act, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has greatly improved the accessibility of air travel for many types of disabilities. It is becoming common practice among able-bodied passengers at the airport to fake a disability in order to fast track their way through the security check. They usually lie about having an illness that makes it difficult for them to stand in the line, request a wheelchair and some even go as far as faking a limp.
