Google's Self-Driving Car: Oh, the Possibilities (Video)
In 2010, Google announced the launch of their project "to make driving safer, more enjoyable, and more efficient." This project, The Self-Driving Car Project recently completed over 200,000 miles of computer-led driving. In commemoration of this event, Google decided to give the public a glimpse of what they call "one of our favorite moments" on this journey.
The video is of Steve Mahan, who is 95% blind. He joined Google "for a special drive on a carefully programmed route to experience being behind the wheel in a whole new way." It gives us a chance to imagine the possibilities of independence for persons with all types of disabilities.
