The following are resources that can help people with disabilities find financial assistance for their various needs.

In an Emergency Situation:

Contact the Federal Government in your area for emergency Food Stamps, Emergency Housing, Medicaid (health insurance), Financial Assistance with electrical or heating bill. Apply early because the process takes a while.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI)
You must be disabled for at least five-months you will receive your first check on the sixth-month. After one year of receiving payments you will be eligible for Medicare.
