Wandall Safety Act: From Public Safety to Cutting Edge Science (Video)
Melissa Wandall’s husband Mark was killed by a red-light runner just 2 weeks before the birth of his daughter. Thanks to the efforts of his wife, Florida has adopted The Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Act. The act ensures that the money gained from traffic violations helps those who are victims of people who violate these laws.
A portion of the proceeds from red-light camera fines in Florida goes toward research conducted at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis in Florida. Another portion goes to trauma centers in the area.
